Sweet Treats for Quilters

Quilt of Remembrance

Quilt of RemembranceWe have kits for the Quilt of Remembrance. Our fabric supplier, J.N. Harper is donating a portion of sales of the Robert Kaufman fabrics used in this quilt to The Royal Canadian Legion Dominion Command Poppy Trust Fund in support of Canada's veterans. Canadian quilters are making this lovely quilt for Royal Canadian Legion branches, for Veterans and Veterans' hospitals across Canada. Do you have someone you'd like to make this quilt for? We have several kits on hand, call us to secure one for yourself.

Block of the Month

As you know our current block of the month project is coming to an end. The last block will be ready the first week of March. We have a few of the fabrics in stock if you'd like to purchase a bit for finishing. If you've already purchased a finishing kit all you'll need is the backing and batting. We have several extra wide backing fabrics in stock and more to come, and of course we have lots of different batting options. We have a new polyester batting called Dream Puff - lovely, low loft and beautifully consistent.

And … Our next Block of the Month is scheduled to start in May. This one features a different star block each month done in a monochromatic colour scheme. Each month the kit will include the pattern for the block and fabrics to complete the 12" block plus matching fabric to frame the block. This series of blocks will finish at 16". Our plan is to keep this series going as long as we can find star blocks to make, so if you really want 15 or 20 blocks instead of the traditional 12 this will work for you. Stars in candy colours - we call it Starburst!
